David Beaty, the head coach of the KU Football team, has been reaching for the stars in his current recruiting. Thanks to Tony Hull, former high school head coach from the state of Louisiana, Beaty has created a real interest in Louisiana recruits.

KU football has suffered plenty in the past. With a carousel of coaches and NFL experience promise that led to progress at a standstill, KU is now seeing its day in the light. David Beaty and his recruiting have been making significant impact in recruiting networks in Texas and Louisiana.

The puzzle pieces have been coming together for David Beaty and his staff in his recent recruiting endeavors. With huge commitments from some of Louisiana’s top recruits Beaty has created the best recruiting class in the Big 12, according to 24/7 Sports.

With leverage from running backs coach, Tony Hull, Coach Beaty has picked up two four-star recruits, and four three-star recruits per Rivals.com. As of now, the Kansas Football program holds eighth place in national college football recruiting rankings according to that same Rivals.com link.

Even with the recent verbal setback from three star receiver Ja’Marr Chase’s de-commitment, KU Football looks set to take a huge step from its previous 2-10 record last season.

Along with the great influence of Tony Hull’s roots in Louisiana. Kansas’ recruiting is packed with outstanding remodeling in the locker rooms and facilities and a new distinguished offensive coordinator Doug Meacham.

Here are the following 2018 recruits that KU has landed per JayhawkSlant.com:

More from KC Kingdom

  • Cartez Crook-Jones, a three star, 6’4″, 230 lbs. defensive end from Grandview, Missouri – Committed 2/8/17
  • Aaron Brule, a three star, 6’0″, 165 lbs. safety from Metairie, Louisiana – Committed 2/5/17
  • Corione Harris, a four star, 6′ 1″, 170 lbs. cornerback from New Orleans, Louisiana – Committed 2/4/17
  • Devonta Jason, a four star, 6′ 3″, 187 lbs. wide receiver from New Orleans, Louisiana – Committed 2/4/17
  • Anthony Williams, a three star, 5′ 10″, 165 lbs. running back from Boutte, Louisiana – Committed 2/4/17
  • Clayton Tune, a three star, 6′ 2″, 195 lbs. quarterback from Carrollton, Texas – Committed 2/4/17

With these numerous additions to the 2018 recruiting class David Beaty looks to right the ship for the future of KU Football.

I could not be happier to finally see KU become a contender; maybe even for bowl eligibility. Something that has not happened since Mark Mangino did it when he held the head coaching position.

Heck, even just a few more wins than last season would be a huge step in the right direction for KU football. That’s not too crazy of a theory either, as David Beaty looks poised to put this team on the map.
