KC Chiefs News: John Dorsey and Here Come the Steelers

facebooktwitterreddit

KC Chiefs news consists of the rumors swirling around general manager John Dorsey potentially departing for Green Bay, and also about the divisional round of the playoffs, which will see the Chiefs welcome in the Pittsburgh Steelers to Arrowhead.

Kansas City Chiefs fans had it pretty good this past weekend. They were able to just kick back, relax, and watch the other playoff games taking place, and later waiting to see just who they’d be hosting in their first home playoff game since 2010.

There was a bit of a stir among Chiefs Kingdom though, especially on Sunday morning, when news broke that John Dorsey is one of the Green Bay Packers’ top choices as their general manager.

Dorsey has done a great job putting this Chiefs team together since he arrived with Andy Reid in 2013. It’s scary to think about losing him, especially to a big time team like the Packers, but the truth of the matter is that Dorsey spent nearly his entire career in Green Bay.

This would also explain the rumors of Chris Ballard was blocked from the 49ers for their GM job, as he’d probably be Dorsey’s replacement should this end up happening.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the KC Chiefs do their best to keep Dorsey in Kansas City. At the end of the day, however, I don’t think money will be the reason Dorsey decides to depart, should he decide to do that.

The other big news was watching the Pittsburgh Steelers beat up on the Miami Dolphins in a 30-12 game. Chiefs fans have been panicking about this potential match-up ever since the week four smackdown took place, but this is a whole new KC Chiefs team now than who we saw then.

Here’s what’s trending in KC Chiefs news around FanSided.

Major Shakeup Could Come To Front Office [Ben Almquist, KC Kingdom]

"You see, John Dorsey is a Packer. Yes, he is currently the Chiefs General Manager, but that’s not where his heart is. Dorsey came up as a Packer. We all know that he was swiped from the Green Bay front office, but do you know how deep his ties go? Except for his current job and a one year stint with the Seahawks, John Dorsey has been a Packer since 1984."

It’s easy to look back at that week four game and freak out over the Steelers coming to town, but I advise you to try and look past it.

The Kansas City Chiefs have proven that they’re not that team we saw get bludgeoned in early October. They’ve beaten playoff teams this season and now they can get revenge on one of the few teams who were able to embarrass them in 2016.

This game will also be at home, which will bode well for the Chiefs. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers aren’t nearly as effective on the road as they are at home, with Big Ben throwing for only nine touchdowns and eight picks on the road compared to his 20 touchdowns to five picks at home. That’s quite the difference.

Hopefully the KC Chiefs have learned from that gross game back in week four and know how to beat the Steelers. If they lose this game, the season will be over, and none of us are ready for the season to be over yet.
