The Kansas City Chiefs are back on the road this week as they go to Atlanta to take on the Falcons. Here are the five things for Chiefs fans to watch.

Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs proved they belong among the best in the NFL when they beat the Denver Broncos in overtime. A prime time victory had been elusive for the Chiefs in the Andy Reid era, so getting one against a quality opponent was huge. Now the Chiefs are heading to Atlanta to take on another tough team in the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons appear to be a legit contender this year. Their offense is one of the most dangerous in the NFL, riding the combo of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. However, this isn’t a team without faults. The Falcons defense struggles to get off the field and the offensive line has issues protecting Matt Ryan. Those are weaknesses that the Chiefs will need to be able to exploit.

With the Raiders still holding a one game lead in the AFC West, the Chiefs can’t afford to stumble right now. Unfortunately, they are getting a big test when they need it the least. There is also the question of injuries facing Kansas City as the reports this week have not been good so far. It doesn’t help much that the Chiefs have the Raiders next Thursday on a short week.

The Chiefs will have to be on top of their game this week. Every game is a “must win” at the moment, regardless of the quality of the opponent. A win on the road in Atlanta would be a huge boost for KC’s playoff chances.
