The KC Chiefs will face the Denver Broncos this weekend on Sunday Night Football. Which team has the advantage at each position?

Words cannot express how important this weekend’s game against the Denver Broncos is for the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams currently sit at 7-3 and are (at the moment) one game back of the AFC West leading Oakland Raiders.

Assuming Oakland wins this weekend (they play Carolina in the Black Hole), whoever loses this game on Sunday will be two games back of the division leader. Those are some pretty high stakes.

With that said, however, the Chiefs might have the advantage at some positions. Let’s take a look at each positional match-up and who has the edge.

Quarterback

Smith or Siemian?

Before the season began, many speculated that Mark Sanchez would be the starter for the Broncos. It was either him, rookie Paxton Lynch, or unknown Trevor Siemian, who the team had drafted out of Northwestern in the seventh round a year ago.

To the surprise of many, Siemian was chosen to be the starter. He started off hot, but has slipped up as of lately. That’s to be expected though, as now teams have film on the kid and know how to stop him.

Siemian has started all but one game this year and he’s thrown for just over 2,000 yards. He has 12 touchdown passes to seven interceptions.

Alex Smith, on the other hand, has thrown for 2,077 yards (just 50 or so more than Siemian) and has also started all but one game. He’s thrown nine touchdowns and only four interceptions.

I think most people would take Smith any day of the week, but it’s hard to tell with Chiefs fans honestly.

Advantage: Kansas City
