The Kansas City Chiefs are getting set to start the 2016 NFL season this weekend.  We’re bringing you our season predictions for the Chiefs, along with the rest of the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs begin their 2016 campaign this weekend, along with the rest of the league.  The Chiefs are coming into this season with high expectations after an 11-5 season and a playoff victory.  Many pundits expect the Chiefs to build off of that performance, with some even calling the Chiefs Super Bowl contenders.  So what does the staff here at KC Kingdom think?

Kansas City Chiefs: 11-5 in 2015 (2nd in AFC West)

Ben Almquist: “I’m definitely buying into the Kansas City Chiefs this year.  I think the defense may take a step back from its dominant 2015, but the offense looks much improved.  This is a deep roster at a number of vital positions, so even health isn’t a huge concern.  There are weapons all across the board for Alex Smith.  This team is ready to make a run!”

Prediction: 12-4 (AFC West Champs)

Charles Lam: “The Chiefs have the most talent in the NFL. KC has 9 of the top 100 players according to NFL Networks rankings. The Chiefs get back running back, Jamaal Charles this season. He should help expand the offense more this year.  The defense won’t be as great this year like it was a season ago. Frank Zombo and Dee Ford must step up if the Chiefs want to win the division.”

Prediction: 12-4 (AFC West Champs)

Joel Wagler: “John Dorsey looks like he has finally put together a roster that is deep on the offensive side of the ball. While the talent is there, young players like Chris Conley, Tyreek Hill, and Demetrius Harris need to show results on the field.  This might be the last hurrah for this core group of Chiefs.  Many are getting long of tooth and could be gone next season.”

Prediction: 11-5 (AFC West Champs)

Most of the staff here is taking the Kansas City Chiefs as the AFC West champs in 2016.  However, there are three more teams in the division, and another 28 around the league.  Here is how the rest of the NFL looks to play out…
