While the KC Chiefs had a whole lot of success in the sixth round, they have seen some decent players come out of that round.

Look, not everybody can be like the New England Patriots and find a future Hall of Famer in the sixth round. The Kansas City Chiefs are proof of that, as they have yet to draft even a Pro Bowl player in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Continuing on with the best selections in each round countdown, here are the ten best players selected by the Chiefs in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. It wasn’t the easiest compiling this list, as not many of the Chiefs’ sixth-round choices went on to make much of any kind of impact.

A lot of these players will likely make you ask, “Who is that?” and that’s usually the reaction with sixth-round draft picks. I think I dwindled it down the best that I could though, sorting through the amount of time they spent in Kansas City, Chiefs career stats, and if they had any impact with the team as a sixth-round pick.

Let’s kick things off with someone who just missed out on the list!

Best Sixth Round Selections of All-Time – Honorable Mention: Noland Smith (Chiefs return specialist from 1967-1969)

Case in point in the names not being super noteworthy. Noland Smith was Kansas City’s sixth-round draft choice in the 1967 AFL Draft. He went on to spend two and a half seasons in Kansas City before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

Smith makes this list simply due to the amount of kickoff return yards he compiled during his rookie year in 1967. The guy had 1,148 yards on kickoff returns in 41 total attempts. He also took one of those all the way back for a touchdown.

Smith also fielded punt returns but wasn’t as good at those, with 26 returns for 212 yards. He returned one punt for a touchdown in the 1968 season but never made a huge splash in the league after that.

He was out of the league after the 1969 season.
