Kansas City Royals news focuses on their recent victory over the Detroit Tigers, and also, Chris Young’s first win this season over the Baltimore Orioles.

The Kansas City Royals much maligned starter Chris Young finally got his first win on April 22nd.

With the help of Mike Moustakas, Young led the Kansas City Royals to a 4-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

After this outing, the Kansas City Royals moved to 11-5 while the Orioles move to 10-5.

The Kansas City Royals will look to take another series following their 2-1 showing against the Detroit Tigers.

Despite Young being a winner in the most minimalistic sense, he will have to continue winning in order to quiet those who say that he belongs in the bullpen.

That being said, Young did not have a terrible showing in his only win this season.

Young only surrendered four hits in six innings pitched.

Although Young did allow a home run off of Manny Machado, a solo shot late in the evening with a comfortable lead is fairly reasonable by Young’s current standards.

The Kansas City Royals will continue their series against the Orioles on Saturday, April 23rd at 6:15 PM CST.

The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Kansas City, MLB Network, and Mid-Atlantic Sports Network if you enjoy watching the other team’s broadcast for some reason.

For the Kansas City Royals, right hander Kris Medlen will face off against Tyler Wilson.

Medlen hopes to maintain an impressive earned run average which currently stands at 2.38.

Compare this average to Medlen’s 5.25 career average against the Orioles.

He has also accumulated 11 strikeouts with a current record of 1-0 this season.

If his impressive win over the Oakland Athletics was any indication, the Orioles may have their hands full against Medlen.
