Best First Round Picks by the Chiefs – Number 10: John Alt (Chiefs offensive tackle from 1984-1996)

John Alt is yet another guy who spent his entire career as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. He was the team’s first round pick in 1984 (21st overall) and the team never looked back on the decision to select Alt.

Offensive linemen don’t get a lot of the same love as other positions do, but Alt was one of the greats in Kansas City. He was always a reliable tackle along the line and it’s great when a guy can spend his entire career with one team.

During his time as a Chief, Alt made it to two Pro Bowls (1992 and 1993) and was elected into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 2002.

With the way the Chiefs’ offensive line has looked over the past few seasons, it sure was nice having a guy like John Alt on the team. He was one of the best offensive linemen the organization has seen, and hopefully the team will take another offensive lineman in the first round of the draft this year.
