Episode three of Survivor Kaoh Rong aired on Wednesday night, and former KU basketball player and NBA champion Scot Pollard finally saw success with his tribe.

We’re three episodes into Survivor Kaoh Rong and former Kansas Jayhawk Scot Pollard lived to see another episode. Not only that, but his tribe finally won an immunity challenge, which was much needed for the brawn tribe.

With Scot‘s tribe finally winning a challenge, there wasn’t as much attention on the brawn tribe this week, but he and Jason did have a big moment when the two found the hidden immunity idol together.

With this being a more low key week for Scot and the brawn tribe, let’s get right into the three keys for him in this episode.

Key Moment #1: Explaining why he voted for Alecia

More from Kansas Jayhawks

Scot put himself as the odd man out when he was the only one to vote for Alecia at the last tribal council. Jennifer went on her weird tirade where she stood up and yelled things and basically shot herself in the foot at tribal.

When the brawn tribe returned home from voting Jennifer off, Scot explained to Alecia that he promised Jennifer he wouldn’t write her name down. While Alecia didn’t seem to really buy it, it could be something that comes into play later on in the game.

Key Moment #2: Finding the hidden immunity idol with Jason

One of the biggest weapons in the game of Survivor is the hidden immunity idol. Once a player has it, their stock in the game goes way up and everything becomes a lot more interesting.

It’s no secret that the brawn tribe didn’t want Alecia to find the hidden immunity idol. She ended up finding the clue and told Cydney about it. While the two were digging where the clue instructed them to, Jason caught them, and Cydney later told him about.

Now that he and Jason have the hidden immunity idol, they basically have control of their tribe.

Jason then recruited Scot and it was a madhouse on the brawn tribe’s beach. The guys dug up the clue and then ran off to find the tree where the key was located. Alecia caught wind of what the guys were doing and followed them to the tree where Scot was able to get the key out with a tree branch.

When the key fell, Jason grabbed it and he and Scot then went on to unlock the chest that contained the idol while Alecia stood by awkwardly watching it go down.

Key Moment #3: Winning an immunity challenge

More from KC Kingdom

Let’s face it. The brawn tribe was looking pretty bad after losing two immunity challenges in a row and being down two players to the other two tribes. Had they lost one more challenge, they’d be down three players.

A win was crucial and they BARELY scraped out a win on Wednesday night over the brain tribe. While Scot didn’t singlehandedly win the challenge, he was one of the three who helped navigate the balls through the maze. He did so quick enough to keep them in the challenge, as the team literally won by about three seconds.

Survivor Kaoh Rong is now three episodes in, and Scot Pollard is still very much alive and kicking in the game.

Now that he and Jason have the hidden immunity idol, they basically have control of their tribe. Could Jason keep the idol for himself though and end up blindsiding Scot? Only time will tell.

I’d imagine some type of tribe swap will be happening soon too, so that could be tricky for the duo should they get split up and Jason has the idol. This season has been very enjoyable so far though!
