KC Chiefs News: Super Bowl Contenders and the NFL Draft

facebooktwitterreddit

KC Chiefs news focuses on how the team is perceived within Chiefs Kingdom, and outside of it. The 2016 NFL Draft is also approaching, which is big in KC Chiefs news as well.

Kansas City natives felt that 2015 was the year in which the Kansas City Chiefs would take one huge step forward. The biggest goal for this team was to win a playoff game, something that hadn’t been done since January 1994.

After starting the season with a measly 1-5 record, the Chiefs pulled themselves together and won ten straight games to end the season. They then went on to beat the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the playoffs to give them that coveted playoff victory.

Although they lost in disappointing fashion to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round, the KC Chiefs are certainly trending in the right direction. Their toughness on defense got them far in 2015, and the offense did enough to help the team win.

If the defense can continue to stay as dominant as it was in 2015 (minus the Patriots game), the 2016 Chiefs have a great shot at contending for the Super Bowl. Wouldn’t that be something?

An area that could help the Chiefs reach the big game is the NFL Draft. This year’s draft takes place the final weekend in April, and the Chiefs have a ton of different options as far as that first round pick goes.

Will they go offensive player or defensive player? Sexy pick or safe pick? Trade up or stay put? All of those questions will be answered come draft weekend.
