KU Basketball continues along in their Big 12 Conference schedule with a matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones on the road in Ames, Iowa.

The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off a 76-67 win over the Texas Longhorns in Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday and now head to Iowa State to take on the Cyclones. The Jayhawks had just lost to Oklahoma State on the road in the game before, so winning this game became pretty important as far as the Big 12 Conference is concerned.

Perry Ellis went for 26 while Wayne Selden chipped in 19 in a game where the Jayhawks struggled mightily in the first half. They trailed for a majority of the game and in the first eight minutes or so, it looked like they may have been blown out on their home floor where Bill Self is now 200-9, after the win, in his career at Kansas. What an amazing accomplishment for coach Self.

Conner Lammert led the way for the Longhorns in limited minutes due to the foul trouble he endured pretty early on in the first half. He had 15, and Prince Ibeh added a whopping seven blocks against the Jayhawks. Ibeh was everywhere defensively and seemed to keep the Kansas offense in check for parts of the game single-handedly.

The Iowa State Cyclones are again one of the top teams in the tough Big 12 Conference, even without their ex-head coach Fred Hoiberg, who went to coach at the NBA level. They still are led by Georges Niang, who has seemingly been their for decades and does everything for the Cyclones on the offensive end.

He usually guards Perry Ellis pretty well and always stretches the Kansas defense which is a real thorn in our sides. His passing ability is arguably his best attribute as it keeps everyone on their toes.

This has the makings to be a good one.

This should be a pretty good game with two of the top teams in the Big 12 going at it. With the recent struggles of the Jayhawks, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Cyclones could pull this one out of their home arena.
