KU Basketball continues along in their Big 12 Conference schedule with a matchup against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Tuesday.

The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off a 70-63 road win over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday. The Jayhawks had to re-start what they hope turns into another winning streak after losing to West Virginia last week. West Virginia exposed a lot of issues in the Kansas offense, forcing over 20 turnovers.

The TCU win was a big one for the Jayhawks’ confidence going forward. They had five players score 10 or more points Saturday, really spreading the ball around. Wayne Selden Jr. led the team in scoring with just 11, but it was enough to get the W.

Oklahoma State is 9-8 (1-4 Big 12 record) thus far on the season and has come up short in all of their last four games. Three of those games were against ranked Big 12 opponents.

Now Oklahoma State relies on freshman guard Jawan Evans, who scored 42 on second-ranked Oklahoma just last week. He averages 12.3 points per game so far this season, but could go off against anybody.

Oklahoma State guard Phil Forte is arguably the best player the Cowboys have but has missed all but the first three games of the season due to injury. Without Forte, their offense just isn’t what it would be with him on the floor. He has absolutely killed KU Basketball in the past, especially back when Marcus Smart was with the Cowboys.

Now Oklahoma State relies on freshman guard Jawan Evans, who scored 42 on second-ranked Oklahoma just last week. He averages 12.3 points per game so far this season, but could go off against anybody. I predict that Devonte Graham will be tasked with guarding him for the majority of the game. Selden and Frank Mason are other candidates to follow him around throughout the game.

This should be a pretty good game, and this should be the first of many against Jawan Evans, who could be a 4-year college stud when his college career is all said and done.
