KU Basketball is still in the early part of their Big 12 conference schedule with a matchup against the TCU Horned Frogs in Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday.

KU Basketball is 14-2 (3-1 in conference) on the season thus far and will be dropped from their current #1 ranking in the standings because they lost their last game against West Virginia.

They lost 63-74, their first loss since back against the Michigan State Spartans, who are arguably the best team in the country when completely healthy.

The Kansas Jayhawks looked their absolute worst against West Virginia and struggling mightily with the press (that they have named “Press Virginia”) they have become famous for:

Looking ahead to today’s matchup, one would think the Jayhawks are ready to go. With the loss, this week’s practices couldn’t have been fun and now coming home to play the 9-7 TCU Horned Frogs, they should be ready to explode. They will be looking to avenge their loss quickly.

KU Basketball has a lot of tough games coming up including Kentucky, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and West Virginia before Valentine’s Day. This game becomes a game that they need to win because it is doubtful that they would be able to beat all four of those teams and with the Big 12 conference so good this year, the Jayhawks need to make sure they keep a couple games in their back pocket to makes sure they can win it outright.
