KU Basketball has their third game of conference play this season with a matchup in Lubbock with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

KU basketball is coming off their biggest regular season win in years with a triple overtime win over the #2 Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners are a much improved and much more complete team compared to last year, and their star Buddy Heild looks like the player of the year thus far.

The Kansas Jayhawks improved to 2-0 in Big 12 play with the win over Oklahoma and now have their first conference road game with a matchup in Lubbock, Texas against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Red Raiders are currently 11-2 with their two losses against at the time #16 Utah and then #13 Iowa State in their last game. Utah is their only home loss thus far this season.

Texas Tech is normally not a very good basketball school, but this year they have stepped up their game and may actually have a chance to finish in the top half of what is a very good basketball conference this year. It’s completely stacked from top to bottom.

Kansas should be up for the task though, as they are the number one team in the nation right now and have probably the deepest and overall most talented roster in the country. Led by big-man Perry Ellis, the Jayhawks offense can score at basically every position and in many different ways.

Their versatility this year is good even for Bill Self’s standards.

This game is worth watching for sure, and was strategically (more like luckily) placed an hour or so after the Chiefs’ playoff game should end, so there is a full slate of Kansas City sports on the docket for today. Be sure to tune in to both the Chiefs and the Jayhawks today!
