KC Chiefs News: 2016 Offseason, Champ Bailey on Chiefs, and More

facebooktwitterreddit

The KC Chiefs take on the San Diego Chargers this Sunday in a critical game that may decide the Chiefs’ playoff fate in the end.

The Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Diego Chargers in Week 14. They are currently sitting at 7-5, good enough for the first wild-card spot of two in the AFC playoff race.

Teams like the Steelers, Texans, Bills, and Broncos are all still fighting with the Chiefs for their division and one of the two wild-card spots.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has been listed as active for Sunday’s game. He had been on the Chargers’ injury report all week long as either questionable or probable. The Chiefs are 1-0 against the Chargers so far this season, as the Chiefs stomped them in San Diego just a couple of weeks ago.

This game is huge for the Chiefs, as the teams, I listed above are all in the hunt and can knock out the Chiefs with just one Chiefs’ loss and a few wins from the other teams in the hunt.

Here’s a look at the latest Chiefs’ news and updates from Fan Sided:

KC Chiefs: 2016 Offseason to be scary (KC Kingdom)

"The key guys who are scheduled to be free agents in 2016 on the defensive side of the ball include (courtesy of Over the Cap):SS Eric BerryCB Sean SmithMLB Derrick JohnsonFS Tyvon BranchDE Mike DeVitoSS Husain AbdullahObviously, the top priority for the Chiefs’ front office should be both the linebacker and cornerback positions. Smith and Johnson should be the top priority because, without them, the defensive core would be a lot weaker. Johnson is the Chiefs’ all-time leader in tackles already at just 33 years of age. Smith is Kansas City’s top corner, and without him, they only have Marcus Peters left regarding a viable starting cornerback."

KC Chiefs: Five Reasons to Hate the Raiders (KC Kingdom)

"The Chiefs lead the all-time series 58-52-2, with the longest winning streak lasting nine meetings. While nine straight wins sound like a lot, streaks like that are bound to happen when the teams play 112 times. The Chiefs lead the all-time series 58-52-2, with the longest winning streak lasting nine meetings. There was also a period where the Raiders had beaten the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium six straight seasons. That was just hard to swallow considering how hard it is for an opponent to win at Arrowhead, and these silly Raiders came in and did it SIX straight years!"
