KC Chiefs: Immediate Reaction and Imagery for Win Vs Texans

facebooktwitterreddit

The KC Chiefs start the 2015 NFL season off with a bang with a road win against the Houston Texans.

This is more like it! The Kansas City Chiefs came out with fire against the Texans in their season opener, winning on the road 27-20.

The Chiefs looked terrific especially in the first half. Rookie cornerback Marcus Peters pulled in an interception on the first defensive play of the game, which set up a touchdown for the offense.

Kansas City never looked back.

They racked up 27 points in the first half and while they didn’t add to that total in the second half, neither did they make any mistakes that cost them.

The Chiefs didn’t commit a turnover and didn’t draw their first penalty flag until the 11-minute mark of the fourth quarter. The committed just two penalties all day.

It was an impressive start to the season for the Kansas City Chiefs. If they play this well all year, maybe they can win their first playoff game in more than 20 years.

After having a disastrous season opener at home last season against the Titans last year, one that may have cost them a post-season berth, the KC Chiefs were totally prepared for this road game. They were so impressive in that first half.

Allen Bailey spearheaded a Chiefs’ defense that recorded five sacks. Bailey accounted for two himself.

If you want to search for something the Chiefs will certainly need to improve, it is running the ball. They accumulated 97 yards but seemingly had a lot of carries that didn’t net much yardage.

Derrick Johnson, who got hurt in the first half of the first game of last season, and missed the rest of the year, is zeroing in on the KC Chiefs’ record for career tackles.

Alex Smith looked to be in fine form, completing 22 of 33 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Travis Kelce snagged six catches for 106 yards and two scores to help secure the week one win.
