KC Royals: Four Royals Voted Into All-Star Game

facebooktwitterreddit

The KC Royals have had an exciting weekend that consisted of two walk-off wins and a split series with the Minnesota Twins. On Sunday evening, the MLB All-Star Game announced the starting line-ups for the American League and National League team. Four members of the Kansas City Royals made it into the big game.

American League Starters

The KC Royals have four starters in the All-Star Game, which is still pretty good despite them having eight guys slated to start at one time. It’s not surprising to see that Omar Infante didn’t make it over Altuve, and I’m honestly glad to see the more deserving second baseman make it into the game.

Mike Moustakas has had a good season, but Donaldson is certainly more deserving. Same goes for Eric Hosmer and Miguel Cabrera, but Cabrera was recently put on the disabled list for the first time in his career and will probably not be participating. Perhaps Hosmer gets the start there?

Pitchers and reserve players will be announced on Monday, and you’d have to think that relief pitcher and sometimes closer Wade Davis would make it into the game as well, but with four Royals already getting their tickets punched, it won’t be super shocking if Davis gets robbed.

The Royals have four starters who DESERVE to be there. They weren’t elected due to needing a representative. They earned it.

It’s nice to see Cain and Escobar both make the team this year. Both certainly deserved to play in the game last year, but this year Royals fans made it their mission to get as many of our beloved boys in blue in the big game.

This is a nice change of pace for KC Royals fans, who in the past have had to watch some pretty bad representatives participate in the All-Star Game. This year there is no Mark Redman. The Royals have four starters who DESERVE to be there. They weren’t elected due to needing a representative. They earned it.

This is a good American League team and I feel like they should be able to defeat the National League and win the advantage for the World Series. Hopefully then, we can witness the Kansas City Royals holding up that trophy at Kauffman Stadium in October after winning the World Series.

What do you think of the American League roster? Do you think any Royals got robbed of spots or that any of these guys didn’t deserve it? Sound off below!
