At the midway point of the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs currently sit at 5-3, starting their second half  with a big game looming against the also 5-3 Buffalo Bills.

This season hasn’t been perfect. It wasn’t like last year where our beloved Chiefs started the season 9-0 headed into their week 10 bye. No, this season, believe it or not, is actually better in my opinion.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

How can it be better Leigh? The Chiefs are 5-3! Last year they were 9-0!

Okay, yes, that part is true, but the 2014 Chiefs look so much better than last year’s team that was undefeated at this point. A lot of the wins last year were brought on by a weak schedule and while that’s not Kansas City’s fault, it definitely showed us that this year’s team is better for a variety of reasons.

Kansas City went 2-5 after their bye last year. This year so far? 3-0. Oh and all five of those losses last year were to teams over .500.

This year the Chiefs have beat the Dolphins on the road, beat the Patriots at home, and beat the Chargers on the road. All three of those were impressive wins for this team. The other two wins came in somewhat lopsided scores for Kansas City, one where they blew out the Rams and another winning by 14 points against the Jets.

So what else is there to say at this point of the season? I’ll get to that on the next few slides! Click “NEXT” on your keyboard or use the arrows to navigate the slideshow.
