Jeffrey Flanagan of Fox Sports Kansas City broke the news on Twitter.
#royals infante will miss a couple days with shoulder inflammation. Colon gets start

Infante, who signed to a 4-year deal this past off-season, is a delicate flower. He has missed time this season, playing in only 107 of the Royals’ 130 games to this point. He only played in 118 last season for the Detroit Tigers.
The 32-year old leads the Royals in Runs Batted In, somehow, despite the fact he has hit second for most of the season, and missed over 20 games.
Christian Colon, the Royals first round pick in 2010, has been a pleasant surprise in his short stint with the big club. He has played 5 games at second, 3 at third, and 2 at short. In 15 games, he has 31 at bats, and a terrific small sample sized slash line of .379/.419/.586/1.006.
Colon has four doubles and a triple in his short career thus far.
Omar Infante is a team leader and his presence will be missed if he is out for more than a few games. The Royals are heading into September with a slim lead on the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central, and they need all hands on deck.
The Royals already announced that Yordano Ventura will miss a start d0 a stiff back. Eric Hosmer is on the Disabled List with a hand issue. Kansas City has been fairly fortunate this season with injuries, so they don’t want to have them start stacking up now.
Hopefully, Omar Infante will indeed miss just a couple of games. Maybe Christian Colon can stay hot, and alleviate the loss on Infante.
Keep your fingers crossed that both Yordano Ventura and Omar Infante just need a bit of rest, and will be back to full strength very soon.
