Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will not be playing tonight against the Carolina Panthers. Charles is being with held due to a bruise on his foot and it’s said to be precautionary, reports Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star.

So what does this mean for the offense tonight? It means that Knile Davis, Cyrus Gray, and De’Anthony Thomas should get a lot of work done on the ground. Cyrus Gray is fighting to stay on this roster and if she shows as well as he did last week, his case will be very strong.
It should be fun to see DAT get more work out of the backfield as well.
As for the rest of the injuries, Eric Berry will not play due to his nagging heel injury. He’s said to have tendinitis, which is very nagging and can only be treated with rest. Him missing this game isn’t a big deal and I wouldn’t be opposed to him not playing the entire preseason if he’s not 100%. Berry running around in a meaningless game just doesn’t make any sense.
Mike Catapano and Mike DeVito both didn’t make the trip to Carolina. Catapano is still dealing with his illness and DeVito is rehabbing his broken hand. Undrafted free agent Kona Schwenke is also out, which means the Chiefs are left with limited depth along the defenisive line. Look for guys like Vance Walker, Kyle Love, and Jaye Howard to play a lot of meaningful snaps in tonight’s game.
