Man, it feels good to write another getting to know the enemy, as our beloved Kansas City Chiefs are set to host the Cincinnati Bengals tomorrow night at Arrowhead stadium.
For those of you going, I’m jealous, even though it is just a lousy pre-season game. Still, the atmosphere of Arrowhead stadium, and being around the team for the first time in six months, brings a lot of excitement to this football fanatic and I’m ready to get this season under way.
First and foremost, there won’t be any game planing from either team so don’t expect much other than “vanilla” play calling from both offensive coordinators. What we’re looking for in this game is the young guys, and vets, who are trying to make their respective teams play with effort and show signs of why they belong on the roster.
For players like Albert Wilson, Mark Harrison, and Cyrus Gray, games like these in the pre-season mean everything in showcasing their skills not only at their primary positions, but special teams as well.
Personally, I’m anxious to finally see all these young receivers play against other competition. All the buzz out of training camp has mostly come from this young group of players who are all competing their tales off.
I’m also excited to see Aaron Murray get some reps, though it’s uncertain how long Chase Daniel, and Tyler Bray, will stay in the game. Just these few reasons stated will keep me interested for all four quarters.
Now, A look at the numbers. (feels great to type that again!)
