A report has come out from Bob Finnan of The Morning Journal & The News-Herald saying that the Cleveland Cavaliers are willing to deal Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love.
Though the Cavs have said that Wiggins is not an option, Bob Finnan says a source is saying otherwise,
Rumors have surfaced that the Cavaliers wouldn’t include rookie swingman Andrew Wiggins in any possible deal for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ star.
A league source said on July 17 that the Cavs are now willing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft.
If true, I understand the move for the Cavs. Kevin Love is an established All-Star forward and could be a perfect partner in crime with LeBron. Love wants out of Minnesota and being dealt to Cleveland could be his ideal situation.
If this trade does got through, it would be too bad, as a lot of Kansas Jayhawks fans would’ve loved to see Wiggins play next to LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. It could have been the start of a new big three in the Eastern Conference.
Wiggins has had a monster NBA Summer League so far, proving why he was worthy of the number one overall pick.
Nicknamed, “Maple Jordan” because of his Canadian roots, Wiggins averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, showing his ability to make almost any play on the court. (stats via sportsreference.com/cbb)
If he is dealt to the Timberwolves, he would immediately become the face of their franchise and I believe he will still have a lot of success in his career. This kid is a special talent and I’d personally like to see him stay in Cleveland with LeBron, where his skills will be more showcased.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated on all the Wiggins trade news as it breaks.
