It’s time to be bold, Dayton Moore. You’ve done it before, and now is the time to do it again.

Hey, I don’t blame Moore for seeing if lightning would strike twice in the form of Raul Ibanez. It was a low-risk move, and we all knew/know there was little chance of it paying dividends. Considering the Kansas City Royals lackluster offense, I’d say it was a smart move.

Those moves–those kinds of moves (read Scott Downs)–aren’t going to get us where we need to go though. That James Shields trade is the speed I’m talking about.

This is where my diabolical plan starts to unfold. I want Moore to not only make another trade similar to that of the Shields for Wil Myers variety, but I want him to return to the exact same well. That’s right, it’s time to call the Tampa Bay Rays again.

What do the Rays have to offer? There are two obvious choices that could really boost the Royals post-season chances–Ben Zobrist and David Price. Here’s the catch. I don’t want either Zobrist or Price.  I want BOTH Zobrist and Price.

I know the Royals would have to give up the farm, and I’m okay with that. The only untouchable prospect, in my opinion, is Hunter Dozier. Just from what I’ve seen and heard about this kid, he can really hit, and I have to think the Royals are going to need something like that at 3rd base in the very near future.
