Week 1: Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs

This game will feature a homecoming of sorts, with the return of Dexter McCluster.

The Chiefs decided to part ways with the Pro-Bowl special teams ace this past off season and Tennessee signed him within the first two hours of free agency opening. McCluster wasn’t their only big signing either, as they hired their 17th head coach in franchise history with Ken Whisenhunt.

If  you remember, Whisenhunt turned things around for Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers offense last season when he was hired as Mike McCoys offensive coordinator.

He was a great hire for Tennessee and honestly, he could get things turned around quickly for the Titans as well. While they’re still planning to roll with Jake Locker as the starter, watch out for LSU quarterback, Zack Mettenberger, as he has run a pro-style offense the last two seasons down in Baton Rouge.

While the rookie qb is likely a few years away from making a serious impact, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that he made for some serious competition for Locker during training camp.

The way I see this game, the Chiefs are at home in Arrowhead, and while Tennessee should be a better team than last season, the Chiefs should win this game. With a rockin’ home crowd and the smell of BBQ in the air, the Chiefs start the season with a win, 24-13.
