Around The Kingdom: Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles, Nori Aoki, Leticia Romero

There has been a lot of news from Around The Kingdom in recent days. The Kansas City Chiefs are still dealing with their release of Brandon Flowers. There is a big question as to whether the Chiefs will be better or not without him.

The Kansas City Royals are on a serious roll right now, winning their sixth game in a row on Saturday. The bandwagon is suddenly getting full again.

The Kansas Jayhawks announced that three players are leaving the football team. This program seems to be in disarray right now, and winning more than the lose this season looks to be a pipe dream.

Finally, the Kansas State Wildcats can put the Leticia Romero fiasco behind them. The former Wildcats has announced her new school. Not everyone is happy about how this played out.

Jamaal Charles is like any other great athlete… he wants the ball in his hands and he wants his team to lean on him. And his teammates feel the same way about him.

  • KuSports.com – Matt Tait reports three players recruited to be key components have left the KU program

KU coach Charlie Weis said in a press release that Heaps was on pace to graduate at the end of June and planned to “explore other opportunities.” As long as Heaps graduates, he would be eligible to play at a new school immediately.

  • Jug of Snyder – Max Nelson wraps up the Leticia Romero saga with her transfer to Florida State. Obviously, Nelson isn’t pleased with the conclusion of this story.

In my opinion, great players, and great leaders, play through adversity. If Romero was truly a superstar, she would have stayed with her teammates that have put in just as much work as her over the past year. She would have helped change the program, she would have elevated her squad to the next level. She didn’t. She left.

There you have it – the news from Around The Kingdom.
