The KC Chiefs are coming off the most remarkable single season turnaround in franchise history. After going 2-14 in 2012, the Chiefs took advantage of a last place schedule to go win their first 9 games of the 2013 season, and finished with an 11-5 record.
One year after having the worst record in the NFL, and having the 1st overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Kansas City made the playoffs. A new General manager and Head Coach certainly helped the Chiefs pull off the amazing transition from the worst team in the league to a playoff team.
This season, the challenge to stay a playoff caliber team many be even more difficult. The KC Chiefs have a tougher schedule, and they lost several key pieces from last year’s postseason roster.
Last season, the defense carried the team early, but the offense played very well during the second half, making great improvements as the year went along.
Hopefully, their draft research this year will pay off in a positive way. If some of the players the KC Chiefs brought in as free agents pan out, plus if some of the players already on the roster can develop into viable NFL contributors, the Chiefs have chance to return to the postseason.
KC Kingdom is providing you with a series of player profiles, giving you look at each player that has a chance at helping the Chiefs this season. To check out any of the profiles we have already written about offensive players, just click on “player profile” after their names.
This list will be updated as we add player profiles over the next several weeks. We hope this helps you get acquainted with the Chiefs’ roster, both new and returning players.
