Around the Kingdom: Passing Targets, Aaron Murray, and the Royals Offense

Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We may also pass along an interesting post or two from around the world-wide web, just for fun.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom. Happy reading!

The off-season in football is ripe for fan speculation about how new additions to the roster will affect team units in the upcoming season. Arrowhead Addict’s Drew Clark assesses Alex Smith’s pass catching targets for the Chiefs.

Arrowhead Pride’s MNchiefsfan uses a great new site called Draft Breakdown to look at film of new Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray. He writes:

I believe the reason for this occasional lack of arm strength (that comes out of nowhere, seemingly) is that Murray generally covers having a very average arm with EXCEPTIONAL footwork.

The Royals were rained out last night, forcing the team to reschedule the last game of the Yankees/Royals series to a later date. Kings of Kauffman’s Hunter Samuels takes the opportunity to break down what is, and is not, working about the Royals maligned offense.

Over at University of Kansas, Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star takes the athletic department to task for pettiness in taking 120 prime seats away from the student section at Allen Fieldhouse.
