The Kansas City Chiefs opened their 2014 rookie mini-camp yesterday and there is tons to report. Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star did a great job of keeping us updated over twitter, and his post’s answered a lot of our questions.

Yesterday morning, I posted a what to watch article in which I touched on things I would be looking for starting with the health of Aaron Murray who is just 6 months removed from ACL surgery. It was speculated that the Chiefs would have certain restrictions for him until training camp but it seems that plan has changed.

Great news for Murray, as he will be in a heated battle with Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray for that final quarterback spot. The more reps he can get now will only benefit him for when training camp rolls around.

For the most part, it sounds like Murray had a pretty good day but did have his struggles.

I’m not fretting on the interceptions that hard because it is literally the guys first day on the job. The fact that his accuracy was emphasized that much by Paylor is what sticks out to me most. His ability to put touch on his passes is what helped him excel at Georgia and it will be the most crucial part of his game in the pro’s.

Murray showing that off in day one is a good sign for him.
