Around the Kingdom: T.J. Ward, Aaron Murray's Girl, Sporting KC, and Leticia Romero

Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowheamaskd Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We may also pass along an interesting post or two from around the world-wide web, just for fun.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom. Happy reading!

Many pundits stood in awe of the Denver Bronco’s free agency spending spree this winter. Free agent star after star headed for Denver, as John Elway loaded up for a Super Bowl run to take advantage of Peyton Manning’s twilight years. Today, Denver’s Lombardi Trophy hopes took a hit when news that one of their free-agent jewels, safety T.J. Ward, was named on an arrest warrant following an incident in a Denver strip club April 9. Arrowhead Addict’s Ben Nielsen has the story here.

On a lighter note, Ben also wrote about “scouting” new Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray by looking at the twitter account of his (gorgeous) girlfriend, Kacie McDonnell, who is a TV newswoman for Philadelphia’s Fox affiliate. Yeah. Must be nice to be young and an NFL quarterback.

With the Royals enjoying an off night, its a good day to check in on some of the other KC teams. Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star reports that the Sporting KC pair of Matt Belser and Graham Zusi have made the U.S. team Wold Cup roster. I guess that verifies what most Sporting fans already know: they play some quality soccer here in KC.

Meanwhile, Kellis Robinett reports that, while Leticia Romero has not been released by K-State, the school did give her permission to talk to two school in search of a possible transfer.

Be sure to check out KC Kingdom throughout the day for news on the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Tigers, Wildcats, and Jayhawks.
