The great folks over at FanSpeak.com have put together an awesome draft simulator and I’ve used it three times before for my previous Kansas City Chiefs mock drafts.

The simulator combines prospect rankings with each teams needs in order to determine what position they will draft in each round. Since the first round happened last night, the mock progressed to where you can only pick from the 2nd round and beyond.

Since the Chiefs didn’t have a 2nd round pick, I mocked their 3rd and 4th round picks. I’ll mock their last two picks on Saturday morning. This is all assuming the Chiefs don’t make a move to get back into the 2nd round.

Just to give an idea of what the mock simulator was thinking, here’s a quick list of their top 5 picks of the 2nd round

33
QB DEREK CARR
HOUSTON TEXANS
34
OT MORGAN MOSES
WASHINGTON REDSKINS
35
WR MARQISE LEE
CLEVELAND BROWNS
36
DE KONY EALY
OAKLAND RAIDERS
37
DE TRENT MURPHY
ATLANTA FALCONS
38
OLB KYLE VAN NOY
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
As you can see, the simulator is pretty close to actually what the teams are thinking. The Derek Carr pick makes logical sense for the Texans and Marqise Lee to the Browns would just be ridiculous, but again, it makes a lot of sense.
After the 2nd round was completed, the amount of talent still left on the board (receiver in particular) was ridiculous, making the Dee Ford pick make a lot more sense. To begin the list, click next or use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
