It’s here. The 2014 NFL draft has finally arrived.  And the Kansas City Chiefs have the lucky number 23 spot at the disposal. But GM John Dorsey and head coach Andy Reid have their work cut out for them.

As the teams start rolling out their picks in prime time, we’re sure to get a fiery discussion from all around the KC Kingdom on who should be taken, and what the Chiefs should do with their 23rd overall selection.

Should the Chiefs trade up? Don’t be silly. Trade down? If the right deal comes along, sure! Most likely, they will make their own selection at 23.

So as we look ahead to tonight’s draft, I thought I would just put my noggin to work and dish out a little endless stream diatribe of my final thoughts for the Chiefs before they start making their picks.

I have a few pointers to make about all of this. At the very least, hopefully it will stir up some conversation. Here we go…

    I agree, defense should come first. It’s tough to pass up on a wide receiver, but I think it’s right move. Nicely written.
