Per close source, Andrew White will be transferring from Kansas
— Rick Lewis (@Coach_Rick57) May 8, 2014
This information has not been confirmed by Kansas, or by the Jayhawks head coach, Bill Self.
As a sophomore, White averaged only 6.3 minutes a game, most often in mop up duty. Early in the season, it looked as if White might be in line for more playing time than that but it just never happened for the young man.
White averaged just 2.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in the 18 games in which he appeared as sophomore. Known as a three-point shooter, he hit just 32% of his attempts from beyond the arc this past season. He only hit 27.8% of his 3-pointers in his freshman season.
If this turns out to be true, White will be the second player to transfer from Kansas in the last couple of weeks. Naadir Tharpe announced his intention to transfer last weekend.
Tarik Black graduated, Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid left early for the NBA, and now Tharpe, and maybe White are transferring. Kansas has added 3 recruits in Cliff Alexander, Kelly Oubre, and Devon Graham.
Kansas hasn’t really been attached to too many names that remain unsigned. There might be some other players out there who have graduated from their school but still have a year of eligibility left, much like Tarik Black last year.
