Around the Kingdom: Aaron Crow, Royals Expectations, John Dorsey and the 2014 Draft

Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We may also pass along an interesting post or two from around the world wide web, just for fun.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom. Happy reading!

Has anyone else noticed that Royals reliever Aaron Crow has allowed a lot of inherited runners to score? David Hill at Kings of Kauffman writes:

Despite his 0.00 ERA, Crow has allowed five of seven inherited runners to score, getting out of the inning only when the damage has already been done.

Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star chimes in with an interesting opinion piece about increased expectations for the Royals this season. He points out that people outside of Kansas City seem more impressed by improvement in the organization than local fans:

The baseball world sees the Royals’ steps from Industry Punchline to Rebuilding Model as sound. They strengthened their infrastructure with bigger scouting budgets, more scouts and record-breaking spending on amateur players. The game’s best farm system was built from ashes.

Ben Nielsen from Arrowhead Addict reviews SI writer Don Banks’ latest projection of first round possibilities for the Chiefs. While at Yahoo sports, AP writer Dan Skretta mentions that Chiefs GM John Dorsey is sleeping better at night this year than he did before last year’s draft.
