The Kansas Jayhawks have suffered through a horrible stretch of seasons in football. Under Turner Gill and Charlie Weis, the Jayhawks are 9-39 over the past four seasons.
Luckily, a sympathetic Kansas State Wildcats fan has decided to help out by putting together a fundraising video to help his team’s suffering cross state rival. He has posted it on YouTube so everyone can watch it, and give what they can in Kansas’ time of need. How very kind of “goodforanotherksu” (his YouTube Handle). We appreciate it.
It is really nice to see Wildcats helping the Jayhawks whenever they can. As a Jayhawk fan myself, I appreciate all the hard work that goes into supporting our down and out gang on the gridiron.
I am sure Coach Weis and his players appreciate this new feeling of unity and cooperation that is sweeping across the plains of the Sunflower State. It makes me feel good to be a Kansan.
This season, the Jayhawks are ditching Weis’ favorite pro style offense in favor of more of a spread offense. This move is unfortunate for all those pro style quarterbacks who transferred to Kansas to working under Weis, who somehow acquired the reputation as a quarterback guru.
I’m sure Weis did wonders coaching up Tom Brady and molding him into a superstar. Look what he did for Matt Cassell in Weis’ one year in Kansas City! He made a fringe starter-should-be-a-back-up quarterback into a Pro Bowler.
His success in the NFL has not worked as well at the college level, and certainly not at Kansas as of yet.
Maybe, just maybe, with the help of the good fans of Kansas State, the Kansas Jayhawks can get this football program going again.
