Coming off their bye week, Sporting Kansas City will be back in action against the Montreal Impact this Saturday at 7:30 PM. Sporting currently sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference with 7 points in 5 games played trailing Toronto FC and the Columbus Crew.

Montreal is coming off a 1-1 draw against the Chicago Fire last Saturday in Montreal. Montreal currently sit at the bottom of the table in the eastern conference with 3 points in 6 games played. Montreal is still looking for their first win in their 2014 campaign having 3 draws and 3 losses.

Sporting and Montreal last faced off on July 27th, 2013 in Montreal with Montreal taking the 1-0 victory with a Blake Smith brace in the 96th minute.

Sporting met Montreal on two other occasions last season, once on June 1st, 2013 at Sporting Park with Montreal winning 2-1. Sportings’ Claudio Bieler had a goal in the 45+4 minute to open the scoring but Montreals’ Sanna Nyassi tied things up in the 47th minute and Collen Warner had the winning goal in the 53rd minute.

The first time Sporting met Montreal last season was on March 30th, 2013 at Sporting Park with Sporting taking the victory 2-0. Claudio Bieler opened the scoring early in the 5th minute and Graham Zusi added an insurance goal in the 80th minute.

Sporting is scheduled to meet Montreal on two more occasions in the MLS regular season, once on May 10th, 2014 at Montreal and the last time on July 12th, 2014 at Montreal.
