Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom.

Things could be worse for the Kansas City Royals than they are right now. That is the argument made David Hill on Kings of Kauffman. If it weren’t for tremendous efforts by the starting rotation, the Royals record would be much more depressing right now than .500.

"The struggles have not ended with the Royals inability to consistently score runs. Mike Moustakas is beginning to show signs that he is Mr. March, as he is 1-26 after his second consecutive excellent Spring Training. Billy Butler is hitting .214 without an extra base hit. Danny Valencia has had to play second base due to Omar Infante being out of the lineup after getting hit in the jaw with a pitch, an experiment that had predictably awful results. The Royals bullpen, which was expected to continue it’s dominant ways from last season, ranks 26th in the majors with a 5.79 ERA. Just looking at the statistics, the Royals would seemingly be expected to have found themselves in a hole early in the season."

On Arrowhead Addict, Ben Nielsen explores the burning question of where right guards come from in the NFL. This is a good question because the Kansas City Chiefs really don’t have one for 2014 at this time.

Tyler Drenon of Royals Reviews takes an interesting look at Salvador Perez, and his value to the Kansas City Royals, even though he has no home runs and few RBI.

"Salvador Perez has already been worth 0.8 wins according to FanGraphs — that’s actually through seven games. His 1-3 with a walk yesterday probably won’t injure that figure. He has zero homers, two runs batted in, and three runs scored."

On Pine Tar Press, Sarah Bode-Clark reveals a recipe for a tasty looking tailgating treat. Even the name – Honey Crisp Apple Tartlets – sounds delicious.

Finally, what do you think about 522 episodes of The Simpsons in less than 12 days? According to Patrick Schmidt of FanSided.com, FXXX has announced that it will air all 522 episodes in a 12-day stretch in August. Cowabunga, dudes!

Happy reading, and have a great day. Be sure to check out KC Kingdom throughout the day for news on the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Tigers, Wildcats, and Jayhawks.
