KC Kingdom is expanding at a rapid pace, and our goal is to be the best Kansas City area sports site on the internet. Aaron, Josh,  and I are pleased to announce we have added another new staff member, Chad Brewster, to our team.

Chad will be helping in our effort to expand our Tigers, Royals, and Chiefs coverage. We are excited to have him writing for KC Kingdom.

Chad Brewster is off to a flying start, and has already published several things for us. In his first article, he took a long look at the Royals roster as the season opened, and in his second effort, Chad previewed the Royals first series of the season at Kauffman against the Chicago White Sox.

Like all of the new writers to KC Kingdom, Chad Brewster took a few minutes to answer eight questions so we can get to know him just a little better. Here are his answers to those 8 questions:

How did you become a fan of the team you’re covering?

I’ve been a fan of both the Royals and Chiefs since the day I was born. Being from Kansas City, it was hard to root against our hometown heroes. I think my sports obsession started with the Chiefs in 2003. My family had season tickets that year, so I got a good taste of Trent Green, Priest Holmes, and the rest of those guys. How could you not be a fan of Dante “The X-Factor” Hall!

Where did you grow up and where do you currently live?

I grew up in the Kansas City area and lived there until last year. Last fall, I moved to Columbia, MO to attend the University of Missouri, where I am a freshmen studying sports journalism.

What is your college/educational background?

Like I mentioned, I am a freshmen at Mizzou studying sports journalism. I went to high school at Park Hill South in Riverside, MO before coming to Mizzou.

What do you do for a living?

As a full-time college student, being a student is a full-time job. During the summer, I’m a delivery driver for Jimmy John’s.

 Do you have a family?

I have two parents, Alan and Michele, who helped me get where I am today. I also have four younger brothers, ranging from 17-4.

What do you like to do for fun (sports related or otherwise)?

During my down time, I like to play Madden 25 with my friends, play a pick-up game of football at the intramural field, or catching some college basketball on TV.

What are your least favorite team(s) and why?

There is only two teams that even crossed my mind as my least favorite teams: the Broncos and the Raiders. How could anyone in Kansas City ever root for them? My hate for the Broncos has even grown since they got Peyton Manning.

What is your favorite sports moment or memory?

The sports moment I’ll never forget is when the Chiefs topped the Chargers on Halloween on Monday Night Football in 2011. “Phyllis” Rivers choked the game away, which made the game even better.
