Around The Kingdom: Travis Kelce, Miles Austin, Payroll, Minors, House of Martell

Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom.

Over on Arrowhead Addict, Nicholas Alan Clayton takes a look at some bargain players still available in the free agency pool.

Two recently released players that haven’t gotten a lot of press I think fit that mold for the Chiefs — WR Miles Austin and G Mike Brisiel. Both of these players have starting talent and the red flags for them are the same — injuries.

Jen Nevius on Kings of Kauffman gave us a rundown on how the Royals’ minor league teams did in their opening games.

On Arrowhead Pride, Joel Thorman does a great job helping us get to know Travis Kelce. He is battling injuries but he was considered a talent a year ago. Let’s hope Travis Kelce can get healthy and stay that way.

Kelce’s knee injury was actually his second of the offseason after suffering an abdominal injury before the draft. As a result of that initial abdominal surgery, Kelce said he was in a “constant struggle to get healthy.” He wasn’t able to lift for a period of time while recovering, which meant he had to get stronger as he entered his first NFL offseason.

Craig Brown for Royals Review breaks down the Royals payroll for 2014.

On Lightly Buzzed, David Harris catches us up a bit on what was happening at the end of last season on Game of Thrones. With the new season starting Sunday, here is a perfect time to be introduced the the House of Martel.

Happy reading, and have a great day. Be sure to check out KC Kingdom throughout the day for news on the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Tigers, Wildcats, and Jayhawks.
