Earlier this week there were reports that veteran, free agent safety, Danieal Manning was coning to visit Kansas City. Well, that will not happen as he and the Cincinnati Bengals came to terms on a one year deal.

As I reported earlier this week, Manning went on Sirius XM radio and announced that he would be visiting Cincinatti first, then make a trip to Kansas City on Thursday. Surely, the Chiefs could’ve gotten Manning on a reasonable deal considering Cincy just gave him one year. Manning chose the Bengals over Kansas City because of his re-uniting with former secondary coach Vance Joseph, who joined their staff this offseason.
It’s a shame, Manning could’ve been solid depth and a quality role player at a position of need. Perhaps the Chiefs might still be looking to fill that void but now must do so through the draft. Currently, the Chiefs roster has Eric Berry, Sanders Commings and Husain Abdullah as their only starters. The need a fourth guy that can help contribute on passing downs. Hopefully, they find that player.
