According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, free agent wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, is visiting the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow.
Interesting, as the Sanders has received interest from multiple teams including the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If the Chiefs could land Sanders at a reasonable price, it would be a tremendous upgrade for the receiving corp.
Sanders is coming off a career year in 2013, catching 67 receptions for 740 yards and 6 touchdowns. He could easily be the Chiefs number two, or, solidify the slot position if Weston Dressler doesn’t work out.
In his four-year career with the Steelers, he amassed 161 receptions, 2,030 yards, a 12.6 average, and 11 touchdowns. All of these numbers are better than those of the departed Dexter McCluster.
With Golden Tate signed to the Lions and Eric Decker to the Jets, Sanders is basically the top receiver left on the market. Kansas City could afford a deal where Sanders is making somewhere between $2-3 million per year, basically what he has been making in Pittsburgh the past few seasons.
Landing Emmanuel Sanders in free agency could completely change the Chiefs landscape in free agency.
