2014 NFL Free Agency: Jon Asamoah Officially Signs With Atlanta Falcons

Jon Asamoah is officially signing with the Atlanta Falcons per multiple sources across the league. Here are the tweets,

The loss of these offensive lineman are becoming tougher to swallow by the minute. Kansas City is on the cusp of losing three offensive lineman in one day, as they’ve already lost Branden Albert to the Miami Dolphins and Geoff Schwartz receiving heavy interest from the New York Giants.

The Chiefs simply cannot compete for the market price these players are asking for. This leaves huge question marks about where the offensive line is headed, as our staff writer Jared Barzee put perfectly earlier today.

Asamoah is set to make $4.5 million annually, which explains exactly why the Chiefs had to let him walk. The market was set for him to make $4-6 million and the Chiefs are sitting at right around $10 million in cap space this season. John Dorsey has some work to do, as he needs to re-tool the offensive line as quickly as possible. Jamaal Charles isn’t getting any younger and your planning on re-signing Alex Smith. You better find people to protect and block moving forward.
