So it’s official, the Chiefs are losing three starting offensive lineman in one day. Multiple reports are that Kansas City Chiefs free agent guard, Geoff Schwartz, is signing with the New York Giants.
Source familiar with negotiations: NYG & G Geoff Schwartz have agreed to terms. Expected to sign tomorrow. He can also play tackle.

Otw to the Big Apple tonight! Can't wait to officially sign w/the @Giants tomorrow! So pumped.

Terrible news, as Chiefs fans were holding out hope on keeping at least one of their two guards that weren’t under contract any longer. Schwartz was viewed as one of the best interior offensive lineman on the market, and he proved that with his play last season in Kansas City.

I hate seeing this loss and continuing from what was said in the post concerning Jon Asamoah, the Chiefs are very thin at offensive line and now need to find answers via cheap free agents and the draft. No word on what the Giants are paying Schwartz, but surely the numbers are close to what Asamoah is making in Atlanta.
On top of this, shortly after the news broke concerning Schwartz, the Broncos announced the signing of safety, T.J. Ward formerly of the Browns. Sad sad day across Chiefs Kingdom right now. Lets hope some of the news gets better soon.
