Dwayne Bowe missed practice Thursday with a concussion and is probably out for this weekend’s game against San Diego.

#Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe will be listed on the injury report with a concussion he suffered this week. Probably won’t play, obviously.

Bowe was on the field at the start of practice that is open to reporters. He later reported concussion-like symptoms and was listed on the injury report as a non-participant in practice.
Bowe was shaken up in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 23-7 loss to Indianapolis when hit by Colts safety LaRon Landry, who was given a 15-yard penalty for hitting a defenseless player.
Bowe was already on the ground after making a catch for 10 yards when Landry grazed him in the head. Bowe left the field but returned later in the drive and was targeted for a pass that went incomplete.
Good news here is that Sunday’s game means absolutely nothing to the Chiefs in terms of the playoffs. Being as conservative as possible with Bowe is the correct route to go. However, it is concerning that Bowe has has an injury that could keep him out longer than just this week.
We don’t have a good understanding of how serious Bowe’s concussion is at the moment. If he is not cleared to go for the first playoff game next weekend then Kansas City is in a lot of trouble. So on that in there is a justifiable reason to freak out. We’ll see where he is on Wednesday next week.
As far as the Chargers game goes, it is not too big of a deal as he probably would have been benched for most of the game anyway. Expect to see a lot of A.J. Jenkins and Junior Hemingway in Bowe’s place.
