The Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) finished out their regular season home schedule with an absolute stinker with a 23-7 shellacking at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts (10-5). It was the third straight loss at Arrowhead for the Chiefs.
This one wasn’t pretty. At all.
Terrible offense, terrible defense, turnovers, penalties, missed field goals. Nothing worked for the Chiefs.
After scoring 101 points over the past two roads games, Kansas City could only put together one scoring drive, and that one came in the opening minutes, on their first possession. In fact, the offense only got the ball in the red zone once on the day, and that was not until the fourth quarter.
It was almost like the Chiefs players took this one for granted; like they thought the Colts wouldn’t show up to play. Instead, it was Kansas City who didn’t show up, a slap in the face to the tens of thousands of fans that showed up despite the brutal temperatures. It was incredibly frustrating and disappointing to watch.
