Keys To The Game for the Chiefs:
1- MAINTAIN THE OFFENSE: The Chiefs have been pretty productive offensively over the past four games, scoring 128 points, despite losing three of them. Defense and special teams have scored some points in those contests but the offense has been much better than it was before the bye week. In the last 4 games, Kansas City has averaged 384 total yards offense. They have done it with a better mix of running the ball and throwing. They still need to get the ball down field more often but even that seems to be happening more often.
2- BETTER ALL AROUND DEFENSE: Last week, the Chiefs defense played pretty well but between the snow and an opponent that was falling apart, it is hard to know just how much of of the Redskins poor play on offense was caused by the Chiefs defense. This week, the Raiders have injuries at quarterback running back, and wide receiver so there should be few excuses if Kansas City can’t hold the Oakland offense down. The Chiefs defense has to return to that stalwart unit they were the first 7 games of the season by playing better at almost every position.
3- JUNIOR HEMINGWAY: With Dexter McCluster out for this game, other wide receivers have a chance to maybe get more playing time. The two most likely candidates to see additional balls thrown their way are Junior Hemingway and A.J. Jenkins. My money is that Hemingway will see the most increased playing time. He is a physical wide out who looks to be a very good blocker on the outside. It would be interesting to see if Hemingway can emerge from the pack a little bit as maybe the number two receiver behind Dwayne Bowe. He might just need opportunity.
