Keys To The Game for the Chiefs:
1- INJURIES: There are a plethora of beat up players on both sidelines. Justin Houston is out but Tamba Hali may be close to 100%. Julius Thomas and Knowshon Moreno will probably both play. Derek Wolfe will miss due to an illness. Wolfe has 16 tackles and 4 sacks this season. Kansas City’s loss of Houston will probably be bigger for the Chiefs than Wolfe’s will be for the Broncos.
2- PASS RUSH: Two weeks ago, Peyton Manning walked off the field after the game with nary a stain to mar the pristine condition of his pretty orange uniform. Kansas City must find a way to get physical with the Broncos signal caller. If the Chiefs fail to get to Manning, it will most likely be a long afternoon for Chiefs fans. It will not be easy with Justin Houston out for the game. Pressure must come from other places but that is so difficult because of the quality of receivers Manning has to work with. Kansas City can ill afford to deplete the secondary with safety and corner blitzes.
3- ARROWHEAD: Last week, Kansas City was unable to protect their home turf when they allowed a late comeback win by the San Diego Chargers. The Arrowhead faithful have to be at their loudest and rowdiest in an effort to make Manning’s famous audibles less effective. Manning is a veteran, used to playing in all kinds of road venues. He cannot be allowed to get comfortable in Arrowhead.
