The Postgame: Tigers Take Down Johnny Football, Advance to SEC Championship Game

Score: Missouri 28, Texas A&M 21

It was over when: Henry Josey broke off a 57 yard touchdown run to give Mizzou a seven point lead. A&M went three-and-out on the next possession and never got the ball back.

Player of the Game: L’Damian Washington and Dorial Green-Beckham. Combined for 13 catches, 190 yards and two touchdowns. The rest of the team combined for six catches and 48 yards.

1. They didn’t choke!

Even the curse of the north endzone could stop Missouri tonight.

2. Henry F. Josey

See the below video. Also see his 96 yards on 13 carries. Also remember that Josey, Russell Hansbrough, Marcus Murphy, and DGB will all be back next season.

3. Defense

Texas A&M has scored 40 or more points in 10 games this season, and Johnny Manziel is the favorite for many in the Heisman trophy race. Mizzou allowed nothing.

Manziel had just 195 passing yards, a long pass of 35 yards, 21 yards rushing, and one total touchdown. All at least tied season lows. Missouri’s defense has become something far more SEC-like than expected. Paired with their offensive fire power, they can beat anybody in the country. And to think I thought Gary Pinkel was going to get fired before the season started…

1. Why
2. Worry
3. Tonight?
