THREE THINGS TO WATCH
1- TYLER LOCKET – The Kansas State wide receiver produced nearly 300 receiving yards a week ago and amassed well over 400 total yards. It is doubtful the Jayhawks have anyone to keep up with the fleet footed wide out. If Tyler Lockett can get the ball in space, Kansas may not be able to bring him down. Look for Lockett to have another big day.
2- JAMES SIMS – The Kansas running back has been one of the very few bright spots for the Jayhawks this season. Look for Kansas to run James Sims early and often this afternoon in an effort to control the ball and move the chains. Sims is one of the best backs in Kansas history, and he would like to close out his career with a big upset.
3 – FOUR QUARTERBACKS – There is a good chance you will see four quarterbacks play in today’s game. Each school has a running quarterback (Daniel Sams – KSU, Montell Cozart – KU), and a passing quarterback (Jake Waters – KSU, Jake Heaps – KU). The Wildcats’ two signal callers have been the much more effective pair this season. It will be interesting which one will stand out today.
Kansas may lead the series 64-41-5, but this game has been dominated by the Wildcats in recent seasons. Don’t look for that to change today.
