THREE THINGS TO WATCH
1- KANSAS 3-POINT SHOOTING: Kansas has netted just 19.2% of their three-point shots thus far in the Battle 4 Atlantis as they have hit just 5 of their 26 attempts from behind the arc. This is totally unacceptable and will hinder the Jayhawks from improving on the offensive end. No one has stepped up for the Jayhawks to emerge as a reliable 3-point option. This would be a good game in which to work on this area.
2- ANDREW WIGGINS: Head Coach Bill Self has got to figure out how to get Andrew Wiggins on track. Wiggins is being outplayed by freshmen across the country. It is not a given he will be the first overall draft pick, yet Wiggins is playing as if it is a foregone conclusion. He needs to stop going through the motions, and get mentally into the games, starting today.
3- PERIMETER DEFENSE – There were signs of improvement on the defensive end of the court in the 4-point loss to the Villanova Wildcats, but Kansas still not not play good team defense from start to finish. Too many opposing players are left too open for outside shots, and stress is being put on the big men as they are forced to help out almost continually. This in turn is causing those big men to rack up fouls. Kansas has to improve their play on defense if they are ever going to reach their massive potential.
