Who foresaw a shootout between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Diego Chargers On Sunday? The Chiefs fell 41-38 to the Chargers in a game with eight lead changes, the most in the NFL in nearly 2 years.

For the Chiefs, the game hinged on injuries to both of their primary pass rushers, Tamba Hali and Justin Houston, in the first half. The defense, which struggled last week against Denver, really had a hard time in this game, especially in the second half, without their stars.

It was the Chiefs best offensive effort and their worst on defense. The Chargers chose not to go with the quick hitting passing game used by the Broncos so effectively, deciding to stick with their normal offensive scheme. Who knows how the results would have differed if Hali and Houston had not gotten hurt so early.
